Effect of debate strategy on EFL learners, speaking proficiency at Ibb University and their attitudes towards it.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of debate strategy on developing learners' speaking proficiency at Ibb University and their attitudes towards it. Due nature study, researcher used a quasi-experimental research. Through mixture qualitative quantitative methods in an oral test, checklist observation questionnaire were 32 learners level one, English Department, second semester year 2022. To analyze data, means, standard deviations t test. The participants went through ten sessions lasted for two months fifteen days sat test before after using strategy. Using observation, participants' performance tests evaluated. reveal proficiency, asked respond questionnaires that analyzed later. findings revealed greatly developed there significant difference scores strategy, which suggested very high. they held highly positive. That means successful University, and, therefore, it recommended teachers, specialists, etc. teach English, mainly skill, strategy.
